Information we collect

Account information

When you sign up, we collect your email address and a password (stored only in a hashed form, never in plain text). You may also provide a name.

Organization and tournament information

To run an event, you create an organization and provide details such as your organization name, your chosen subdomain, optional branding (like a logo), team rosters and names, schedules, scores, standings, and brackets. You may invite other members and assign them roles.

Payment information

When you buy an Event Pass or a subscription, payment is processed by Square. Square collects and handles your card details. We do not store your full card number. We keep only limited, non-sensitive billing references from Square so we can show your billing history and manage your plan, such as the card brand and last four digits, and identifiers that link your account to its Square customer and payment records.

Usage information

Like most online services, we automatically receive some technical data when you use 7on7HQ, such as your IP address, browser type, pages or features used, and timestamps. We use this to operate, secure, and improve the service.

How we use your information

• To provide and run the service, including scheduling, live scoring, standings, brackets, and public spectator pages.
• To create and manage your account, organization, and team membership.
• To process payments through Square and manage your plan, renewals, and billing history.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot problems.
• To respond to your support requests and send important service or account notices.
• To understand usage so we can improve features and reliability.

We do not sell your personal information.

Information shown publicly

7on7HQ is built so spectators can follow along. When you publish a tournament, its public pages display content such as team names, scores, standings, schedules, and brackets to anyone with the link. Please do not enter information on these pages that you do not want to be public. Your account email and billing details are never shown on public pages.

How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the service:

• Square, our payment provider, to process payments and manage subscriptions.
• Service providers that host our infrastructure and help us operate the service, under obligations to protect your data.
• Within your organization, with the members and roles you set up.
• If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of 7on7HQ, our users, or the public.
• In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to keep the service secure. Square may also use its own technologies to process payments securely.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. We may retain limited records, such as billing references, for as long as required for legal, accounting, or security reasons. When you close your account, we delete or anonymize your data after a reasonable period, except where we must keep it by law.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including hashing passwords and limiting access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to address issues promptly.

Your choices

You can review and update your account and organization information while signed in, and you can cancel a subscription to stop future charges. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, email us at support@7on7hq.com and we will respond as required by applicable law.

Children

7on7HQ is intended for organizers and adults running tournaments, not for direct use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Tournament rosters managed by organizers may reference player names; organizers are responsible for the information they enter and for any required consents.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above. If a change is significant, we will make a reasonable effort to let you know.
